Pauper

Set in 19th century London, Pauper revolves around two best friends, Colin and George and how their lives are affected when they encounter a criminal gang member with a prospect for riches.

After researching about how street urchins were severely punished for minor offenses such as stealing bread or corn, I wanted to do a realistic design on orphaned children and how they are vulnerable to influences when on their own. The designs are meant to portray children who are hardy yet vulnerable while adults are manipulative and are capable of disregarding emotions and sympathy for the sake of profit.
